Today is Norway's National Holiday and Mrs. Ersland insisted that I go into Olso to stand by the Karl Johans gate and watch the parade. The whole atmosphere all across the city was electrifying! It was like all of Norway had come alive! All of the children were dressed up and waving their flags. I had a great time in Olso and I had to spend all day getting through traffic and enjoying my time in Olso (they have some great shops in the big city).
While spending the whole day in Olso, I picked up some information on the history of their national holiday. I found out that it celebrates the day when their constitution was signed in 1814 so it's kind of like Norway's "Independence Day".
